Honestly, could it be anything else this week? If you haven’t already gotten this record, GET IT! NOW! I recommend dowloading from The Arcade Fire’s website so you can get the synchronized artwork that works oh so well in iTunes, yet is ironically not available in the iTunes store.

I bought the album and gave a listen once through. This is what I will say because a friend said it to me and I thought it summed it up well so far. The Suburbs does not seem to be as “epic” as the Funeral and Neon Bible. I do not hear the strong vocal melodies in these songs that kept me coming back for more in the other two records. All that being said, the musical writing seems to be well crafted. Plus, I am a melody junkie. If an album lacks this necessary part it tends to loose its appeal with me. I know this is not the same for everyone and I get that. Also, I am not done with the album in the least bit. There are many, many records that are not very interesting to me the first time around, however after letting the songs do their work on me, it becomes one of my favorites. Although, Funeral and Neon Bible were almost instant hits in my ears. Hmm.
